The Constitution is reviewed in small parts to more easily understand the different facets. David Barton is an fantastic author, that makes complex areas of litigation easier to determine an individuals distinction with morality and the statutes that allow or disallow the implicit reasoning or explicit action. on Sale!

!1: Best Buy Full disclosure, I consider myself a limited government Constitutional Christian conservative with some liberal social leanings (perhaps Libertarian in some ways?). I don't think the modern Republican party or Democratic party serve the needs/wants of We the People, both parties are corrupt and I think they have been infiltrated by big government Progressives (example: Obama has been honest and transparent with his beliefs, read his books and listen to his words "fundamental transformation" and "spread the wealth around", can't be more clear than that.....however McCain and Bush wear the GOP label, but does anyone believe that that are NOT big government Progressives??? Really??? Puhlease!).
That said, knowing our history is very important, so I think this book is a must read if you want to understand the political history of Black Americans. Very well documented and references are clearly listed. The only thing lacking was a better understanding of how/when Black Americans were convinced that the Democratic Party was for them given the history of that party's hatred for Blacks. Case in point, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 would never had been passed if the Republicans had not supported it overwhelmingly. Yet Black Americans (and Latinos) vote overwhelming for Democrats!
Bottomline, register to vote, educate yourself on the individual candidates and vote for who you think is best for the Country first, then your own self-interests second.....who cares if they have an "R" of "D" after their name. I think this is even more important for groups who have been taken for granted by one party or the other, Country is greater than Party! on Sale!

We often forget, for example, that Mussolini and Hitler had many admirers in the United States. W.E.B. Du Bois was inspired by Hitler's Germany, and Irving Berlin praised Mussolini in song. Many fascist tenets were espoused by American progressives like John Dewey and Woodrow Wilson, and FDR incorporated fascist policies in the New Deal.
Fascism was an international movement that appeared in different forms in different countries, depending on the vagaries of national culture and temperament. In Germany, fascism appeared as genocidal racist nationalism. In America, it took a “friendlier,” more liberal form. The modern heirs of this “friendly fascist” tradition include the New York Times, the Democratic Party, the Ivy League professoriate, and the liberals of Hollywood. The quintessential Liberal Fascist isn't an SS storm trooper; it is a female grade school teacher with an education degree from Brown or Swarthmore.
These assertions may sound strange to modern ears, but that is because we have forgotten what fascism is. In this angry, funny, smart, contentious book, Jonah Goldberg turns our preconceptions inside out and shows us the true meaning of Liberal Fascism.

The author distinguishes Fascists from Nazis and, contrary to what some "professional" reviewers would have you believe, does not simply label Liberals as Fascists, but rather explains how classic liberalism was hijacked and transformed into the "Progressive" movement which is at its roots fascist in nature. This was written before Barack Obama was elected, and is somewhat prophetic. It is flawed by a title and cover illustration that take away from the serious nature of the discussion, but otherwise is worth buying, reading, and sharing. on Sale!

±1±: Best Buy This book may be boring to some, but I recommend picking this book up as it is the text that Hamiliton, Jay, and Madison wrote in favor of our Constitution. Each section describes the reasoning behind the outline and responsibilites of our federal government and the limited government they envisioned. A good book for political science students and/or American history buffs alike.
I would like to get a copy of the "Anti-Federalist" papers which is obviously the argument against the Constitution, just to get the other side's perspective during the transitioning times from The Articles of Confederation to our Constitution.
Nonetheless, I am glad the Founding Fathers ratified the Constitution, what are leaders are doing to the Consitution today is a crime.

±1±: Best Buy This book was recommended by Glenn Beck on his radio program. I read lot of history and this is one of the better biographical type books around. It is easy to read and it is written like a story - being told in a large part by the man himself - George Washington. Much of it is in his own words (from quotes, speeches, etc). Would recommend it to anyone who wants to find out what he was really like and not what some writers (with an agenda?) opinion of him is. on Sale!
